SERVICES
Interpreting
  • Consecutive Interpretation:
Consecutive interpreting offers a different kind of service where the interpreter waits for a plausible delay in speaking before arranging a swift interpretation. Therefore, there is a little extra time to think about the whole meaning of the speech.

The great advantage in this service is interpreters become increasingly familiar with all kinds of environments and speaking topics, from factories to formal meetings or even cocktail parties. Your consecutive interpreter can follow you to the site of your business, even social settings, to allow you to converse freely; the international language barrier will all but disappear.

  • Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous interpretation is a necessary service for our corporate clients who need a fast and real-time solution in conferences, business meetings and when making those important deals with your international clients. This skill is highly specialized and requires masterful knowledge of not only both languages in the language pair but also both cultures, and language and culture are intrinsically linked. This information must be received, interpreted and passed on in real-time, with the shortest of delays.

These skills and qualities are what we look for in an interpreter here at Edu Translation. We offer services as solutions in many situations either with annual meetings, large crowds or intimate board meetings. Whatever your situation, we can provide an interpreter to work closely with you, making sure that all your communications are smooth and accurate.

Just let us know your language pair, and we will do the rest!

  • Legal Translations
Translating legal terms and litigation cases from one language and from one culture to another can be a very challenging task. Within one language, law is a dense subject, a language in itself that must be constantly interpreted and updated. Laws and precedents change, vocabulary for litigation or crime is in constant flux, and the language of law, the arguments of law are what need to be translated succinctly, closely and effectively - effectively enough to win a case. International legal documents and verbal exchanges need international translators and interpreters, who you will find in our Edu Translation team.

Contracts, invoices, complaints, all of these jobs require accuracy on a global scale, especially in these times of financial crisis when businesses have to protect themselves while making vital business deals abroad. At Edu Translations, we guarantee that we can take care of these vital documents in order to make your international business in Turkey run smoothly, and to take away the strain of administration headaches. With our legal translation team you will not have to worry about the message you are trying to send, the point you are trying to make, or the legal requirements you are trying to fulfill. Submit your documents and let our experts go over them with finely tuned bilingual legal minds.
  • Literary Translations
A literary work involves, among many other ingredients, tone, narrative, metaphor, rhythm and often a lengthy, complex plot that may contain a vital sub textual commentary in between the lines of the text – things that are said by not being said. Satire or culturally defined humour can also be the seasoning in a novel or poem. An experienced and talented translator must consider these aspects as he or she begins the artful task of translating literature; books, articles, prose, poems and other creative pieces. Our Edu translators not only understand this art form but know just how to transfer these subtle meanings while maintaining the overall flow and style of the text.
  • Medical Translations
It is not enough to know the language pair to perfection in order to make a translation of a medical text. The translator must also know the subject matter well, including the vast and often Latin based medical terminology. What if he or she does not? It could be the difference between a patient healing or not; it could mean that vital research on diseases is rejected by international journals and magazines. Edu Translation medical translators know the importance of these differences and they know the responsibility involved in translating any medical text to meet international standards.
  • Technical Translations
Technical translation, which makes up a huge percentage of translation jobs, consists of documents such as manuals, instructions, guides and terminology heavy texts. However, despite the terminology, the text should not read as a list, neither should it be just a mere transferring of technical lines within a language pair that the translator has memorized or stored electronically. Technical writing involves a creative process that requires the translator to have prior and extensive knowledge of the subject matter. In addition, conciseness, as well as, functional texts is the aim of the technical translator, and therefore, he or she must be clear; for example, instructions or diagrams on the use of a product should not leave any room for interpretation.

Languages

Edu Translation translates from Turkish into ALL languages with its team
of over a 1000 in house and freelance professional translators.
  • English <-> Turkish Experience is the key
Translating from English to Turkish can be a little tricky because there are a lot of dialects, colloquialisms and maybe even some slang that the translator has to get their head around. American, Canadian, British, Australian, South African and many other types of English, all have their own styles and sounds with which our sworn translators must grapple and eventually master. Our translators at Edu Translations have detailed and relevant knowledge about culture and dialect, a multitude of experiences and resources that they can draw from in a New York minute to utilize in your translation, whatever the content. If you need a punchy legal letter, for example, that needs to be effective yet chatty, we'll have the words ready to set it down for you. These guys have studied the language, and they've lived it!
  • Turkish <-> English In search of perfection
A Turkish to English translation is a job for the brave! English is an ever changing language that absorbs words and phrases from around the world very quickly. It derives this flexibility from its multiple past influences. Turkish is much the same, with words coming into the average Turkish vocabulary from many different countries and cultures; French, English, Arabic and Persian are just for starters. In addition, Turkish received a huge overhaul with the establishment of the Turkish Republic, which not only reformed old and new words in the language but also changed the entire alphabet from Arabic script to Roman letters. So anyone who attempts to say that they are master of both these languages, enough to make a worthy translation, must have great linguistic and cultural insight. Our team at Edu Translation never tires of the challenges that we face in finding an equivalent for every turn of phrase, for every word, new or old. For us, it is a fearless task that we undertake many times daily, and we are completely familiarized with this language pair in all its empirical and modern guises.

CAT Tools
In these days of technology and a fast moving world, translators need to use many tools to enable them to produce good quality translations in time for your deadlines, no matter how tight. As well as a trained and highly dedicated, eagle-eyed team that check your documents carefully at every stage, there are also on hand advanced, computer-assisted translation solutions - known in the business as CAT tools. As a small example, these tools allow the translator to develop a memory bank of phrases and advanced vocabulary for terminology management; this they can continually refer back to, especially in times when you urgently need highly specialized work. This example alone demonstrates how technology can speed things up without compromising quality or accuracy and, in fact, improve on the entire translation process. At Edu Translation we are not afraid to progress in this way, and fully employ all the tools that are necessary to produce computer age translations.

    DTP Tools
      Desktop Publishing
One of the many important stages of the translation process is desktop publishing or DTP. As well as the actual translation between languages, typesetting, graphics, website layouts and other parts must also be considered. That is why we have an expert team on hand to manage the design of your translated document including graphic design, documentation and graphic localization projects in a timely manner.

      DTP at Trusted Translations, Inc.
In any translation office worthy of your consideration, it is important to have a trusted team of desk top publishers. We want your documents to be returned to you looking as you submitted them, or as close to the original as possible. Some documents are full of intricate graphics or maybe your project contains documents with complicated design layouts. At EDU translations, we have a hard-working group of desktop publishers who take great care at every step and rank among the best in the business. Our desktop publishers work in-house so they are never far away if we need to make last minute changes for you. DTP is an important stage of the translation process; your translated text must fit into its original layout and graphic design. Even if the text is perfectly translated, unskilled desktop attempts can make it look unprofessional overall and may dampen the effectiveness of your document. EDU translation understands this, and this is why we do not utilize freelance options but rather look to our highly trained in-house staff for constant direction and support. In this way, the layout and appearance of your document remains as it was when you first delivered it into our competent hands.

      Desktop Publisher Teams
Communication between the management team for your project and the designers will be smooth and instant. This also means that we can be accurate about our schedules and return times; feeding back and exchanging ideas will not be delayed. Our desktop team has an understanding about every stage of the process of translating a document. They work together with all the other people that make it happen, translators, editors, proofreaders to make sure that the final product is the most precise and newly polished version of your document. At EDU One of the many roles of the desktop publisher is to assess the imagery of each project and consider its elements from a cultural perspective. It does not stop there; design must be carefully considered. Certain letters and aspects of lettering or even grammar may mean different things to different people, and it is the designer that must make decisions about what will be suitable for the customer's society. This is just part of the process, and it is completed accurately and efficiently by our desktop publishing team.

      Translation Format and Design
The technology that our publishers employ at EDU Translation, as with any tools, is subject to underlying subtleties that, if used in the right way, can improve our task no end. Furthermore, our expert publishers are familiar with every inch of our process, so we have the strength of knowledge to control the original style and design of your work from the moment it enters our electronic environment. No matter what shape or form your document arrives in at our office, we will be able to make the necessary updates to the document without compromising its original design. What this means for you is no administrative worries and a result that is instantly gratifying.

Translation Work Flow and Procedure

After we accept the document to be translated, the document is
initially transmitted to the electronic environment.

Then, the document is transferred to the project coordinator,
who deals with the relevant customer.

The project coordinator analyzes the quality & quantity of the work,
and determines the project director, translator and editor who
are thought to be suitable for the work.

The document is transferred to an expert translator with terminology
provided by the customer or produced in consequence of
preliminary terminology work carried out by the editor.

An editing operation is carried out by the editor after the translated
document is delivered to him by the translator.

During the desktop publishing process, a final revision is made
for the visual quality and consistency of the document.

After desktop publishing corrections, a final proofreading is
made and the document is delivered in a format
preferred by the customer.
